What is HOPE Team?

HOPE Team is designed for children ages 4-8 who need an introduction to water and water safety. Our CWST Junior Coaches work with your child to help them gain confidence in the pool with the "hope" they'll graduate to CWST. Check below for more info on our HOPE team. 

Registration

• Registration fee: $150
• Registration for HOPE Team is separate from CWST and requires a code. Please contact the CWST BOARD to request a spot.
• Spots are limited each season, with priority given to RETURNING Hope Team swimmers from the previous season. Then all remaining open spots will be given in order of the Hope Team list. 
• Once the spots have been filled, others will be placed on a waiting list and invited to join based on date of request.
• After receiving the registration code, you will be directed to our HOPE team registration form.

Practices

• Our Junior Coaches are in the water with your child at all times
• Coach/child ratio is usually 1:1, but may sometimes be 1:2
• Practices are usually 4:00 - 4:30pm Monday-Friday, starting the first week of April through most of May

Graduation to CWST

• If at any time your child is able to float/swim in any of the above combinations for the ENTIRE length of the pool, he/she will graduate to our "Big Team"
• To move up to CWST, your child must be able to complete a lap without touching the bottom or stopping

FAQs

• Introduction to water and water safety includes: floating, paddle/kick  techniques, and back & free combinations.
• No floaties are allowed
• Parents of HOPE team are not required to complete volunteer hours for HOPE team unless their child makes CWST
